ARCHIVE/Madrid 2024
Camilo
Camilo performed at Starlite Occident Madrid on two consecutive nights, Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21, 2024. The Colombian singer-songwriter was among the first names confirmed for the second Christmas edition in the Spanish capital and the only artist on the bill with two dates.
Two dates at the winter edition
Camilo’s double date was already part of the first line-up announcement in early October 2024, alongside Alejandro Fernández and Vanesa Martín. It was the artist’s first visit to Starlite Occident Madrid, at an edition that grew on 2023: twenty days of programming, from December 12 to 31, and a venue twice the size, with an indoor auditorium fitted with a sound system that delivers the same volume and quality to every seat. His two concerts came in the middle stretch of the calendar, between the Black Eyed Peas show and those of Isabel Pantoja, Taburete and Estopa, in the week before Christmas.
A singer-songwriter with a style of his own
Camilo arrived in Madrid as one of the most recognisable voices in recent Latin pop. The Colombian singer-songwriter has made his name with songs of his own that blend pop, folk and urban rhythms, in a live show built around his voice and guitar and a very direct connection with the audience. That format suited the Starlite Occident Madrid auditorium, designed to bring artists close to the stalls. The two nights were also a rare opportunity for his Spanish fans: two back-to-back concerts by the same artist in the same city, in the middle of the Christmas season.
DJ Nano after party and Mau y Ricky at the Lounge
Both of Camilo’s nights carried on in the after party area. On Friday, December 20, DJ Nano headlined the late-night session at Starlite Sessions with a run through the most recognisable tracks in the history of Spanish dance music, the first of his two dates at the edition. On Saturday the 21st, the Lounge stage welcomed Mau y Ricky, the Venezuelan duo presenting their album “Hotel Caracas”. The Starlite Occident Madrid programme combined those concerts with new in-house restaurants, a Food Hall, Christmas shopping and a fine-dining offer for the box experience, the format the festival brought from Marbella to the capital.
Camilo was the only artist with two nights at the second edition of Starlite Occident Madrid, a double concert in the week before Christmas 2024.
