The origin
First edition at the Cantera de Nagüeles: thirteen concerts with Julio Iglesias, Tony Bennett and George Benson. A natural auditorium that changed Marbella summers forever.
Consolidation
Lenny Kravitz, Plácido Domingo, Lionel Richie and Laura Pausini in a single summer. Starlite Occident established itself as southern Europe’s benchmark boutique festival.
The great leap
The season doubled: from twenty to forty-six concerts. Elton John, Juan Luis Guerra and Anna Netrebko took to the quarry stage.
Resilience
The first major European festival held during the pandemic, with pioneering protocols. Twenty-eight concerts when no one else dared.
Record
Sixty-one nights of music in a single season: the longest-running boutique festival in the world. Diana Ross, C. Tangana and Jason Derulo.
