Estopa performed at Starlite Occident Madrid on Saturday, December 28, 2024, as part of the second Christmas edition in the capital. It was a special Christmas concert and the duo’s last show of a year in which they celebrated 25 years of career.

The last show of a year of celebrations

Estopa’s concert was announced on October 29, 2024, together with Isabel Pantoja’s, as one of the last additions to the Starlite Occident Madrid line-up. Over 2024, David and José Muñoz had marked their 25 years of career with the release of a new album, Estopía, described as their own take on the fate of humanity, and with a major tour across the country. The Madrid date was framed as the close of that year: a special Christmas concert and the last show of 2024, with which, in the organisers’ words, the brothers from Cornellà would put “the finishing touch to a year full of celebrations and good times”.

“Como Camarón”, “Por la raja de tu falda” and the duo’s classics

Estopa’s repertoire is the one that has followed them since the late nineties, when their blend of rumba and rock left Cornellà de Llobregat to become one of the hallmarks of Spanish pop. The announcement of the concert previewed some of the big hits the Starlite Occident Madrid audience could expect to hear live: “Como Camarón”, “Por la raja de tu falda”, “Tu calorro” and “Vino tinto”. The auditorium was fitted with the HOLOPLOT immersive sound system, which lets the audience enjoy the same audio quality and the same volume from any point in the room.

The second edition in the capital

Estopa’s performance was the last concert on the bill before New Year’s Eve, in an edition that ran from December 12 to 31, 2024 in a venue twice the size of the previous year’s. The line-up featured Alejandro Fernández, Vanesa Martín, Niña Pastori, Il Divo, Grupo Frontera, Black Eyed Peas, Camilo, Mau & Ricky, Clean Bandit, Isabel Pantoja and Taburete, and on December 31 Hombres G saw out the year with Juan Magán’s after party. Every night, the concerts were rounded off by the venue’s own restaurants and the Food Hall, Christmas shopping and the after party sessions, with DJ Nano on Fridays December 20 and 27.

Estopa chose Starlite Occident Madrid to see out 2024 with a Christmas concert: the close of their anniversary year in the capital.
