Il Divo
Il Divo performed on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Starlite Occident Madrid. The quartet closed the first weekend of the festival’s second Christmas edition in the Spanish capital, a season that ran from December 12 to 31.
A Sunday of classical voices in the second edition
Il Divo joined the Starlite Occident Madrid 2024 line-up in the second half of October: their name first appears in the announcement of October 29, the same one in which the organisers revealed the dates for Isabel Pantoja and Estopa. The concert, on Sunday, December 15, closed the first weekend of the edition after the nights of Alejandro Fernández, Vanesa Martín and Niña Pastori. The quartet, made up of singers of different nationalities and known for a repertoire that sits between opera and pop performed in the indoor auditorium that Starlite Occident Madrid built in the capital, in a venue twice the size of 2023.
An auditorium with immersive sound
In 2024 the Starlite Occident Madrid auditorium was fitted with the HOLOPLOT audio system, an immersive sound configuration that lets the whole audience, wherever they sit, hear with the same quality and at the same volume. It is a format suited to voices like Il Divo’s, with a large-scale stage and an experience the organisers described as feeling closer than ever to the artists. Around the concert, the edition offered the festival’s own restaurants (Tanabata, Nikkei cuisine; Raffaella, an Italian trattoria; Ánima, Mexican), a Food Hall with stalls and food trucks, Christmas shopping and a gourmet proposal in the box area from 7 pm.
Il Divo on the 2024 line-up
Il Divo’s show was one of the concerts of the second edition of Starlite Occident Madrid, alongside Alejandro Fernández, Vanesa Martín, Niña Pastori, Grupo Frontera, Black Eyed Peas, Camilo, Mau y Ricky, Clean Bandit, Isabel Pantoja, Taburete and Estopa, plus DJ Nano’s after parties on Fridays December 20 and 27 and the festival’s first New Year’s Eve in Madrid, with Hombres G and Juan Magán. Three days after their performance, group member Urs Buhler was in the audience for the Black Eyed Peas concert on Wednesday, December 18. According to the organisers, the festival’s return to Madrid in 2024 created more than 1,000 jobs.
