Gilberto Santa Rosa made his Starlite Occident Madrid debut on December 21, 2025 to a sold-out crowd, months after playing Starlite Occident Marbella that summer. The Gentleman of Salsa ran through five decades of hits in a show of more than two hours during the festival's third Christmas edition.

The Gentleman of Salsa, sold out

Gilberto Santa Rosa came to Starlite Occident Madrid after performing in Marbella that same summer, and his debut at the Madrid edition sold out. With more than five decades on stage and a catalogue of over thirty albums, the Puerto Rican singer is one of the great names in Latin music, known for his elegance on stage and a romantic, approachable style that has taken salsa to the top. Before the show he put it this way: "One of my dreams has already come true: to belong to the Starlite Occident family. I had heard a lot about the festival until I finally made it to Marbella, and now I have the privilege of coming back for the Madrid edition."

More than two hours of dancing

The concert opened with "Me gustan las Navidades" and, from the moment he walked on in his trademark suit, Santa Rosa had the audience on its feet. The set moved between romantic and tropical salsa, pairing some of his best-known songs with a warm, communicative delivery that turned the auditorium into one big dance floor. "La agarro bajando", "Un montón de estrellas", "Cartas sobre la mesa" and "Ahora o nunca" shaped a show that kept the energy up for more than two hours. The Gentleman of Salsa sold out and turned the auditorium into a great dance floor.

The final stretch of the Christmas edition

Gilberto Santa Rosa's show was one of the standout nights of the third edition of Starlite Occident Madrid, which ran until December 23 with concerts, a curated restaurant offer, a Christmas market and after parties at Starlite Sessions. The following night Manuel Carrasco took over, having chosen the festival to close his tour. Santa Rosa thus became one of the few artists to play both festival venues in the same year, Marbella in summer and Madrid at Christmas, and he did so with a sold-out house on his first night in the capital. For an artist who had said that joining the festival was one of his dreams, it was a fitting way to close the year.

Gilberto Santa Rosa ended his year with Starlite Occident in Madrid: a sold-out house, five decades of salsa and an auditorium dancing for more than two hours.
