Melendi
Melendi opened the third edition of Starlite Occident Madrid on Friday, December 12, 2025. The Asturian singer sold out the opening night of the winter season in the Spanish capital and, after the concert, the evening carried on at Starlite Sessions with Hermanos Martínez.
The night that opened the third edition
On December 12, 2025, Melendi was the artist chosen to open the programme of the third edition of Starlite Occident Madrid. The concert began with “Hijos del Mal” in front of an Auditorium that had been filling up since early in the afternoon. From there he ran through the songs that have defined his career: “Caminando por la vida”, “Violinista en tu tejado”, “La promesa” and “Barbie de extrarradio”, all sung back by the crowd from start to finish. One of the most talked-about moments came with “Mírame”, when he stepped off the stage to sing among the audience. He closed with “Lágrimas desordenadas”. Among those attending were Manuel Martos, Carlos Latre with his daughter Candela, Manu Sánchez and Dan Casado.
From La Cantera to the capital
It was not Melendi's first time on a Starlite Occident stage. The previous year he had played two consecutive concerts at Starlite Occident Marbella, in La Cantera, to celebrate two decades in music. That double date strengthened his relationship with the boutique festival, and the artist chose it again to meet his audience in the Madrid edition. When his addition to the line-up was announced in October 2025, the organisers promised a run through songs that have accompanied several generations, such as “Hablando en plata” and “Tu jardín con enanitos”. With more than twenty years behind him, Melendi is one of the most widely followed singer-songwriters in Spanish pop, and that catalogue of hits set the tone of the opening night.
Hermanos Martínez and a week with three appearances
After the concert, the night went on at the Starlite Sessions stage with Hermanos Martínez. Following their time at Starlite Occident Marbella, Álvaro, Borja and Jaime made their debut in the capital with a no-frills live set in which “Canalla”, “Vals” and “Para qué me escribes” were sung in chorus. The edition continued until December 23 with concerts, restaurants, a Christmas market and after parties; the following night it was Ricky Martin's turn. Melendi, moreover, was back at the venue that same week: on December 15 he received the Premio Imparable at the Billboard No.1s gala, and on December 16 he joined India Martínez on stage as a guest. Three appearances in a single edition that sum up his bond with Starlite Occident Madrid.
Melendi opened the third winter season of Starlite Occident Madrid to a full house, and a week later he was still part of the programme.
