Andrea Bocelli
Andrea Bocelli performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 15, 2022, his third visit after 2015 and 2017. The Italian tenor sang a duet with Marta Sánchez and was greeted on stage by Richard Gere.
The tenor's third visit to the quarry
Bocelli, who has sold more than 90 million records and recorded around ten operas, was the first artist confirmed for the 2022 line-up. The programme included "Nessun Dorma", "O sole mio" and "Bésame mucho", along with several opera arias, and the Auditorium rose to its feet for an ovation lasting several minutes. "Tonight's concert at Starlite Occident was different from the rest for reasons that cannot be explained, such as the connection created here between artist and audience. It was a fantastic show for me, and I hope it was for those who listened to me too", he said afterwards.
"Vivo por ella", with Marta Sánchez
One of the moments of the night was the performance of "Vivo por ella" with Marta Sánchez. "After so long, we are finally singing together again", the tenor said. The evening before the concert, Bocelli had received one of the awards at the festival's charity gala for the social work of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
Richard Gere, on stage
At the close of the concert, actor Richard Gere came on stage to greet Bocelli, to an ovation from the audience. Also attending were Alejandra Gere, Valeria Mazza, Alejandro Gravier, Álvaro Muñoz Escassi, María José Suárez, Ramón Calderón, Raúl Sender and Carla Pereyra, who shared the concert by video call with her husband, Diego Simeone. The night continued with the Circus Party, attended by actor and model William Levy.
In 2022 Andrea Bocelli added a third concert at Starlite Occident Marbella, with a duet revived and a Hollywood actor as the last guest on stage.
