Andrés Calamaro
Andrés Calamaro performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on July 27, 2022 with a journey through his 45-year career, built around "Dios los cría", the album on which he revisits his songbook with other artists.
45 years of songs, revisited on "Dios los cría"
Wearing his usual sunglasses, the Argentine musician walked through his best-known songs and praised La Cantera as a setting for live music. Many of those songs arrived refreshed by "Dios los cría", the record on which he has re-recorded them in company: "Bohemio" with Julio Iglesias, "Flaca" with Alejandro Sanz, "Para no olvidar" with Manolo García and "Pasemos a otro tema" with Julieta Venegas. The intent and the lyrics remain the same.
From "Cuando no estás" to "Crímenes perfectos"
The concert began with "Cuando no estás", "Verdades afiladas" and "Bohemio", sung back by an audience that knew every word. One of the most celebrated moments came with the opening chords of "Hong Kong", the song he recorded with C. Tangana and which earned a Latin Grammy. C. Tangana was due to give his third concert of that eleventh edition of the festival on August 1. For the encores, Calamaro played "Flaca" and "Crímenes perfectos".
Argentine guests in the box and an after party with Juan Magán
Watching from the presidential box were Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier with their children, Taína and Balthazar; actor Óscar Martínez and Marina Borensztein; Willy Bárcenas of Taburete with Loreto Sesma; singer Marta Sánchez; Spain's national basketball coach Sergio Scariolo; Carla Goyanes, and actor Alexander Caniggia. The night continued at Espacio Sessions with Juan Magán's after party.
Calamaro left Starlite Occident Marbella without really saying goodbye: two encores and an audience that wanted another concert.
