Antonio José
Antonio José performed at the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium on August 18, 2022, at a festival he first played in 2017 on the Lounge stage and returned to in 2020 and 2021.
From the Lounge to the Auditorium
The singer from Córdoba began his relationship with the festival in 2017 on the Lounge stage, and came back in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, during the 11th edition, he spoke about it on stage: "What a luxury and what a privilege to be here. Heartfelt thanks to this big family that I consider my own. Thank you, Sandra and Ignacio, for so much, and for being at the centre of so many good things that have happened to me since I met you." Of the founders, Sandra García-Sanjuán and Ignacio Maluquer, he added: "They are the reason there is a place in the world today where culture and music are looked after and, most importantly, where every artist is given their place."
From Junior Eurovision to five albums
Antonio José represented Spain at Junior Eurovision in 2005 with "Te traigo flores", finishing second, and won "La Voz" in 2015. Since then he has released five studio albums and a book of micro-stories. In Marbella he sang recent songs such as "Tal Vez", "Te Han Visto Llorar" and "No Fue En Vano" alongside "Lo Que Hará Mi Boca", "A Un Milímetro De Ti" and "Por Mil Razones". The encores were "Tu Boca", "Vamos" and "Tú Me Obligaste". "It's incredible to enjoy this stage and a night like this [...] and to express who I am and what I feel through my music," he said.
Diego Boneta, Valeria Mazza and Lérica at Sessions
Friends and family travelled to Marbella to support him. The audience included Mexican actors Diego Boneta and Renata Notni and Argentine model Valeria Mazza with her husband, Alejandro Gravier. After the concert the music carried on at the Sessions area with Lérica, the duo from Cádiz formed by Tony Mateo and Juan Carlos Arauzo, playing the quarry for the second time that summer.
Five years after starting out in the Lounge, Antonio José came back to Starlite Occident Marbella as an Auditorium artist, with his family in the stands.
