ARCHIVE/Marbella 2022
C. Tangana
C. Tangana played Starlite Occident Marbella three times in 2022: on June 11, July 12 and August 1. All three nights of his "Sin cantar ni afinar 2022" tour sold out the Auditorium.
June 11: from the small stage to the Auditorium
The first date was the second night of the festival's eleventh edition. C. Tangana had played Starlite Occident in 2018, on the small stage, and returned four years later to fill the Auditorium. He came out in a suit, foulard and dark glasses, joined by La Húngara, El Niño de Elche, Juan Carmona Jr., Lucía Fernanda Carmona, Marina Carmona, Noemí Humanes, Yerai Cortés and Pablo Drexler, among others. "We're winning tonight. I feel really good here. Look how many people have come to see us", he said. The set included "Ingobernable", "Ateo", "Demasiadas Mujeres" and "Muriendo de envidia", along with "Corazón Partío" and "Noches de bohemia". Nicole and Bárbara Kimpel, Ramón Calderón, JJ Santos and Marta Martínez-Bordiú were in the audience.
July 12: with a cane, under a full moon
On the second night the Madrid artist appeared in a pinstripe suit, leaning on a cane. "If a man with a limp can dance bachata, you can all dance bachata", he joked. "What a beautiful night, what a moon", he said from the stage, and he spoke about his latest record: "Seeing how my last album has been received and watching the audience sing my songs has been an incredible experience". Over two hours he played "Tú me dejaste de querer", "Mala mujer" and "Ingobernable", along with "No estamos lokos" and "Noches de bohemia", and repeated the scene that gathers him around a table with more than a dozen musicians, guitars and flamenco cajones. Soprano Ainhoa Arteta, who was in the audience, put it this way: "A great revelation, he is very innovative. Tremendous musicians led by a true genius and visionary". Marta Sánchez, Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier, Willy Bárcenas, footballer Junior Firpo, chef Dani García and Luján Argüelles also attended.
August 1: a third full house and "Un Veneno" to say goodbye
"We've come to have fun and to celebrate life", C. Tangana said before "Ateo" on his third night. "Demasiadas mujeres", "Me maten", "Ingobernable" and "Tú me dejaste de querer", the last one with La Húngara, followed. He closed with "Un Veneno". The audience included Paula Echevarría and Miguel Torres, Pepe Barroso Jr. and Gara Arias, Victoria Federica, Anne Igartiburu, Carlos Latre, Alba Díaz, Tomás Páramo and María G. de Jaime, La Mari from Chambao and chef Mario Sandoval. Carmen Lomana celebrated her birthday that night, with a party that carried on in the Sessions area.
Three dates, three full houses: in 2022 C. Tangana returned to Starlite Occident Marbella as a headliner, four years after playing its small stage.
