Coque Malla and Jorge Drexler performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 13, 2022. Both were making their festival debut, in a double concert designed exclusively for the occasion that ended up bringing them together in one song.

Jorge Drexler presents "Tinta y tiempo"

The Uruguayan musician arrived with "Tinta y tiempo", his album after four years without a release, and with a renewed band. He opened with "Plan maestro" and also played "Me haces bien", "Todo se transforma" and "Tocarte". Before performing he admitted to being rather struck by the festival's hall of fame: "It is a challenge; this is a festival with real pedigree and great prestige, everybody knows it. It is an honour to be here". Midway through the concert he added: "I knew this place was special, but it has exceeded all my expectations".

Coque Malla and "El viaje del astronauta gigante"

Coque Malla brought his tour "El viaje del astronauta gigante" to the Auditorium, mixing his most recent songs with those from a career that began with Los Ronaldos. "No puedo vivir sin ti", "Adiós papá" and "Me dejó marchar" were all played. The Madrid artist won the Goya for best original song for "Este es el momento", from the soundtrack of Javier Fesser's film "Campeones". "It is a pleasure to be at Starlite Occident, an extraordinary place; it is a dream come true", he said.

"Berlín", for two voices

For "Berlín", Coque Malla called Drexler back on stage to sing it together: "We have Jorge Drexler in the dressing room and it would be a waste not to invite him on stage. I hadn't planned it, but I thought: why would you stay in the dressing room? You are better off on stage". Malla said goodbye by thanking the festival and the audience. Actress Mónica Estarreado was among those attending.

Coque Malla and Jorge Drexler came to Starlite Occident Marbella each with his own tour and left having shared a song, on a first visit for both.
