God Save The Queen
God Save The Queen played Starlite Occident Marbella on June 17, 2022 with their Queen tribute show. The band was returning to the festival after their 2019 appearance.
A Queen tribute returning after 2019
The Argentine band, with Pablo Padín in the role of Freddie Mercury, recreates the gestures, vocal turns and stage attitude of the British group. Their story goes back almost three decades, to the years after Mercury's death, and since then they have taken Queen's repertoire across five continents. They had already played Starlite Occident Marbella in 2019, and in 2022 they once again brought together fans from several generations.
From "Another One Bites the Dust" to "Bohemian Rhapsody"
The concert ran through "Another One Bites the Dust", "Somebody to Love", "Under Pressure", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Radio Ga Ga" and "The Show Must Go On", among others. The Auditorium got to its feet and sang the choruses in unison, with the stalls turned into a dance floor.
"We Are the Champions" to finish
For the finale the band saved "We Are the Champions", "Don't Stop Me Now" and "I Want It All". Gunilla von Bismarck was in the audience. The festival programme continued the following week with Jason Derulo, Sebastián Yatra and José Mercé.
For one night God Save The Queen brought Queen's songs back to the stage, in front of a Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium that knew every one of them.
