ARCHIVE/Marbella 2022
Jessie J
Jessie J performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on July 22, 2022, three years after her first visit. The British singer gave a two-hour concert in which she alternated her songs with personal reflections.
Back after the 2019 concert
Jessica Ellen Cornish, known as Jessie J, recalled her previous time at the festival from the stage: "Thank you [...] for having me again, one of my last shows was here three years ago and it was the most magical". The set included "Who You Are", the title track of her debut, "Price Tag" and "I Want Love", from her most recent project, produced by Ryan Tedder, which earned one of the biggest ovations of the night. "Queen" was also on the list, and the finale brought together "Nobody's Perfect", "Bang Bang" and "Domino".
"Get to know the person, not the persona"
Between songs, the artist spoke about being authentic, knowing yourself and feeling comfortable in your own skin. "I miss having normal conversations, at the supermarket, in the street, asking for directions without people getting startled. I do these shows so that you feel me as a human being and not as what you see on the internet", she explained. "I don't do it for the screams, I do it so that people feel the most important thing, which is to feel human. I am still suffering in my life and I know many people who are like me. If you don't feel it you won't heal it, if you don't acknowledge it, it won't go away".
Guests and the after party
The audience included Luján Argüelles, Barei, Eduardo Navarrete and Noelia, from Operación Triunfo. After the concert, the night went on with a DJ session by Nacho Campo, son of journalists Manuel Campo Vidal and María Rey, who watched him perform at the festival for the first time.
Jessie J came back to Starlite Occident Marbella three years later and, as well as singing, asked the audience to see her as just another person.
