ARCHIVE/Marbella 2022
Passenger
Passenger performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 4, 2022. British singer-songwriter Mike Rosenberg gave an intimate concert in which he presented his new album alongside the songs that made his name.
From busking to the Auditorium
The night was opened by Stu Larsen, with songs such as "Thirteen Sad Farewells". Then came Passenger, the stage name of Mike Rosenberg, a singer-songwriter from Brighton who started out busking and reached the big stages with "Let Her Go", number 1 in 19 countries and with more than three billion views on a video platform. On stage he put it this way: "I never imagined I could play in a place like this, and for thousands of people."
A new album and a hushed audience
Rosenberg presented "Birds That Flew and Ships That Sailed", a record he had released as a surprise and whose songs deal with the passing of time and with finding out what really matters. The audience listened closely and respectfully, and joined in on songs such as "Things That Stop You Dreaming" and "Hearts on Fire". "Whispers", "Scare Away the Dark" and "Holes" were also played, in a set that made it clear his career goes beyond a single hit.
Zzoilo at Zona Sessions
After the concert, the music continued at Zona Sessions with Zzoilo, the artist behind "Mon amour", who performed songs such as "Superman", "Menta" and "Al punto de sal". Sisters Nicole and Barbara Kimpel, with Frederic Lerner and his family, followed the night with Sandra García-Sanjuán and Ignacio Maluquer from the presidential box.
Passenger arrived at Starlite Occident Marbella with a guitar and a newly released record, and that was enough to keep the Auditorium's attention on the stage.
