Vanesa Martin
Vanesa Martín played Starlite Occident Marbella twice in 2022, on July 1 and August 25. On the first night she premiered an unreleased song; on the second she brought her family on stage for the first time.
July 1: ten years waiting for this concert
"What a wonderful place, how good it is to have such a magical festival in Málaga", said the singer, who is from the province. "We had been trying to make this happen for ten years, and things happen for a reason. This is the most ambitious year of my career and that is why we are here". She presented "Siete veces sí", her latest album, and sang "De tus ojos", "Si pudiera", "Todo cambia", "Frenar enero", "Polvo" and "Cuestión de piel". Raquel Perera and flamenco singer Arcángel watched from the Presidential Box with Sandra García-Sanjuán and Ignacio Maluquer.
"Imán", an unreleased song as a gift
To the surprise of her own team, Vanesa Martín performed "Imán" for the first time, a song from her next album, due at the end of the year, and asked the audience not to share it until the time came. The crowd received it on their feet. She said goodbye counting the days until her return on August 25. That same night, Zzoilo made his festival debut in the Sessions area with his hit "Mon Amour".
August 25: her family joins the finale
"A very good friend has a line that says: 'You shouldn't try to return to the place where you were happy'. But every rule has an exception, and this is the proof", she began on her second night, which included "Complicidad", "Inventas", "Arráncame" and "Aún no te has ido". For the first time in her career she invited her family to sing with her: her sisters-in-law Esperanza and Lourdes, her brother Francis and her friends Patri Alarcón and Eva Soler. She also sang for the first time a song she wrote for her father at the age of 15, and presented "Imán" again. "Thank you, Sandra, for having us for two nights. I hope it is the beginning of many more", she said at the end. Remedios Cervantes and Lara Dibildos attended, and the night continued in Sessions with Fabbio.
A premiere in July and a family finale in August: Vanesa Martín's two nights at Starlite Occident Marbella were played on home ground.
