Lionel Richie, the Oscar-winning American pop icon, sold out Starlite Occident Marbella on July 6, 2023, eight years after his first festival visit.
The Motown legend returns to the cantera after 8 years
International superstar Lionel Richie returned to the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium for the delight of an audience that packed the cantera with a sold out. One of the great icons of American pop and a key 80s artist, Richie poured out energy achieving total complicity with the audience. "I love it! The last time I came was in 2015. This show has been closed since 2019 and the day has finally come!". The legend of the mythical Motown label had already swept the boutique festival in 2015 and anticipation was palpable.
Endless Love, Hello, All Night Long and We Are The World
Musical anthems like "Endless Love", "Lady", "Penny Lover", "Stuck on You", "Hello", "Say You, Say Me", "Dancing on the Ceiling" and "All Night Long" rang out. Also "We Are the World", the song he co-wrote with Michael Jackson for USA for Africa, considered one of the most important pop songs in history. The audience sang it in unison creating a very special connection. The romantic ballads united an audience that recognised every note, while the disco music made the crowd surrender to the contagious rhythm.

Lionel Richie's work is part of the fabric of pop music, having sold more than 125 million albums. Awarded an Oscar, a Golden Globe, four Grammy Awards and in 2022 inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Among the audience, exceptional attendees and great fans of the artist: Loles León, Nicole Kimpel, actress Brigitte Nielsen with Mattia Dessi and Gunilla von Bismarck. "Thank you so much Starlite.
