Marta Sánchez
On 25 July 2023 Marta Sánchez chose Starlite Occident Marbella to celebrate her 30 years as a solo artist with an unprecedented show: her repertoire performed for the first time in symphonic format alongside the Málaga Symphony Orchestra.
The festival she calls home
"When I come to Starlite Occident I feel at home. Summer is Starlite Occident", she said. "I'm 57 and I want to keep making music, I still have a lot ahead of me". At the festival she had already shared the stage with Gloria Gaynor, Plácido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli.
Symphonic setlist and guest stars
She performed "Desesperada", "Soy yo", "Colgando en tus manos", "Quiero más de ti", "De mujer a mujer" plus covers of "Como una ola", "I Will Survive", "Vivo por ella", "Fix You" and the Spanish national anthem, one of the night's most emotional moments. Antonio Carmona — "the male voice I love the most in Spain and the world" — joined her on "Me maten" and "Con sólo una mirada", and Sole Giménez shared "Moja mi corazón".
Afterparty with Zzoilo and celebrities
Celebration continued at the lounge with friends and an afterparty led by Zzoilo, author of the hit "Mon amor", who paid tribute to Marta by singing one of her songs. The audience included Valeria Mazza and Alejandro Gravier, actor José Lamuño, actress Raquel Infante and Marta Martínez-Bordiú.
Thirty years of career, a symphony orchestra and two outstanding guests turned this night into a one-of-a-kind celebration at the Nagüeles quarry.
