On 30 June 2023 Starlite Occident Marbella welcomed Michael Bolton for his only stop in Spain that summer. The show coincided with the launch of "Spark Of Light", his first album of original songs in fifteen years.
A legend celebrating half a century on stage
A Grammy winner with more than 65 million records sold and nine number-one hits, Michael Bolton has shared stages with Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, BB King and Ray Charles. His distinctive voice and emotional lyrics support over fifty years at the top of the entertainment industry.
Timeless hits and a brand-new Spark Of Light
The audience heard for the first time live tracks from the new album, including "Beautiful World", alongside universal classics like "Stand by me", "When a man loves a woman" and "How can we be lovers". The peak came with "How am I supposed to live without you", joined by Chrissi Poland. The festival's audio system — 2,864 speakers, 512 digital channels and 73,600 DSPs — matched Bolton's voice in scale.
Celebrities in the presidential box
Sandra García-Sanjuán hosted Bolton's partner, British socialite Heather Kerzner; actress Brigitte Nielsen and her husband; Marta Martínez-Bordiú and Ana Antic; and German countess Gunilla von Bismarck. "The photocall shines brighter than ever", confessed Ana Antic on arrival.
With Michael Bolton, Starlite Occident Marbella delivered one of those concerts that remind us why music can move the soul with a single well-sung ballad.
