Pimpinela celebrated their 40 years of career at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 29, 2023, in their first festival visit, with the greatest hits of the most international Argentine duo.
First visit of the Galán siblings to the cantera
The Galán siblings, better known as Pimpinela, offered for the first time at Starlite Occident Marbella an unforgettable concert, coinciding with their 40 years on stage celebration. "Lucía and I are very happy to finally be here at Starlite Occident. Happy to celebrate these 40 years with all of you in Marbella, Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. This is our first tour concert". After four decades, they stand out as one of the most prominent musical pairs in the Hispanic sphere, with over 30 million records sold. Of Asturian father and León mother, their mother María Engracia got a tape to CBS through Luis Aguilé.
Olvídame y pega la vuelta: the international anthem
Pimpinela illuminated the Auditorium commemorating their 40-year career. Their most international song is "Olvídame y pega la vuelta", included in their self-titled album and through which they have connected with millions of people for decades. "A esa", "Dímelo delante de ella", "Por ese hombre", "El amor no se puede olvidar" and "Hay amores que matan" also rang out. The dialogued, direct, everyday language of their lyrics has been and will always be the duo's seal. After their extensive career, in 2016 they released their latest album "Son todos iguales". In 2019 they received the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence.
Toñi Moreno and an audience surrendered to folkloric pop
Among prominent faces, presenter Toñi Moreno enjoyed the concert. "Everyone applauded, participated, sang. I think Starlite Occident has a very special energy, and people who come incorporate that energy from the moment they enter and enjoy it 100%". With their unmistakable charisma and talent, the Galán siblings delivered an incomparable performance. Folkloric pop gathered the most emblematic themes. "We want to thank Sandra and Ignacio deeply for their warmth. We admire you for this wonderful work that is Starlite Occident. It's our first year here, truly incredible".
With Pimpinela, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms its Auditorium as a stage where the great names of Latin American pop celebrate their anniversaries before an audience that sings every word of their eternal dialogues.
