With a remarkable career spanning more than five decades, Tom Jones proved he keeps his vocal qualities and energy intact. "Thank you so much Starlite Occident, it's been amazing to be back at this cantera. It's been a wonderful night". His career includes "Surrounded By Time" from 2021: "I wrote it in the 60s, but didn't record it until two years ago. In Britain it reached number one. I'm officially the oldest person in Britain to have a number one album".
Delilah, Sex Bomb, What's New Pussycat and Cohen tributes
His enduring talent supported the renditions of classics like "Delilah", "Green Green Grass of Home", "Sex Bomb", "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat" and "One more cup of coffee" in tribute to Bob Dylan. "I love Bob Dylan and I love this song he wrote". Also "Popstar" by the legendary Yusuf Cat Stevens who had opened the XII edition: "This song was written by a friend of mine, his name is Cat Stevens. We both started in show business around the same time". And "Right Back Here" in tribute to Prince.
The Kimpel sisters and the cantera's acoustics
The renowned singer, considered one of the best voices of all time, poured out talent, charm and charisma during his performance. The concert was a true celebration of music, in which Tom Jones proved why he is considered a living legend. His charisma and ability to connect with the audience are undeniable. The event featured the presence of sisters Nicole and Barbara Kimpel, Ana Antic and Marta Martínez-Bordiú, who with the impeccable acoustics of the Nagüeles cantera and Holoplot technology witnessed the formidable voice of the British crooner.
With Tom Jones, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms its Auditorium as the European home of the Tiger of Wales and the great living legends of the international crooner who continue filling stages five decades later.
