Diana Krall enveloped Starlite Occident Marbella on July 24, 2024, with the most intimate jazz in her third consecutive year, under the attentive gaze of Antonio Banderas and Vicente Amigo in the box.
Third consecutive year of the Canadian queen of jazz
Singer, pianist and composer Diana Krall performed for the third consecutive year at the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium, a date that once again charmed jazz and melodic music enthusiasts. With her enveloping, masterful voice, the Canadian left no one indifferent, transporting the Marbella audience on a wonderful journey through a mix of sounds: jazz, soul, classic pop, ragtime and bossa nova. More than four decades have passed since Diana Krall burst onto the jazz scene. Married to Elvis Costello, she has not lost an ounce of the sensitivity and closeness with which she addresses the audience.
This Dream of You: tribute to Tommy LiPuma
One of the night's great protagonists was her latest album "This Dream of You", which names the tour and stops at the most prestigious European jazz festivals. Released in 2020, the album is dedicated to her music producer and close friend Tommy LiPuma, who died in 2017. It includes timeless classics like "Singing in the Rain", Irving Berlin's "How Deep is the Ocean" and Bob Dylan's "This Dream of You", pieces revisited with her distinctive personal stamp. She also performed classics from "All for You" (1996), "Love Scenes" (1997) and "When I Look in Your Eyes" (1999), with which she achieved international success and a Grammy Album of the Year nomination.

Elegant and warm, Diana Krall lifted the audience to another dimension. Among the celebrities enjoying, actor Antonio Banderas with Nicole Kimpel; Vicente Amigo, one of the greatest guitarists in history who performed the year before; and Marta Martínez-Bordiú. Canadian fans enjoyed from the presidential box with Sandra García-Sanjuán and Ignacio Maluquer. After the concert, the festival turned Sessions into a fun afterparty with Juan Magán as master of ceremonies, vibing to "Bailando por ahí", "Por fin te encontré" and "Verano azul".
With Diana Krall, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms its Auditorium as a European reference destination for the great international jazz voices that choose the festival as their annual must-visit stop.
