Farruko
Farruko, the global reggaeton phenomenon, performed for the first time at Starlite Occident Marbella on July 18, 2024, presenting 'Carbon Armor', his most sincere album, in the first of his only two Spanish dates.
First time at the festival with his European tour
Farruko debuted at the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium. At 33, and since his 2010 debut with "El Talento del Bloque", the singer and composer has collected hits that position him as an undisputed icon of urban music. Considered a global phenomenon, he announced in late 2023 the postponement of his "Carbón Amor Tour" to guarantee fans "new music and an incredible experience". After releasing "CVRBON VRMOR" in spring 2024, he rescheduled his show and announced a North American return and European tour: Marbella was the first of his only two Spanish dates. "Being here at Starlite Occident is impressive. This festival is very important, where countless stars have stepped", he declared.
Carbon Armor, Sahara with Elena Vargas and Calma
The audience experienced the versatility and personality of "Carbón Armor". "This album will be me opening up completely," the Puerto Rican warned. Eighth studio album in 14 years, it emerges "from his life experiences, challenges, falls and victories". One of the most applauded songs was "Sahara", uniting his voice with Sevillian Elena Vargas: a metaphor on struggle and perseverance with a suggestive fusion of flamenco pop and urban music. He also performed "Tóxica", "Fantasía", "Pepas", "Good energy" and the famous "Calma" with Pedro Capó. Throughout his career he has collaborated with Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Bad Bunny, Don Omar, J Balvin and Nicky Jam.
Transformation message and memory of his grandfather
"This place we're standing on today is beautiful, just like my homeland. I love this contact with nature," he declared. But it wasn't an easy day: he lost his grandfather that same day. "We all have problems. You see me here smiling and singing, but today I lost my grandfather. He kept his promise and made me a better man. Wherever you are, I love you and miss you," he confessed. After his public transformation in 2022, he offers a proposal with a "cleaner, more positive approach". "One day you can be at the top, and the next on the floor. Don't stop dreaming, loving, fighting, doing good". Attendees included Guaynaa, Mala Rodríguez, Isaac Belk, Shelao and Marilia.
With Farruko, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms its Auditorium as a space where the great reggaeton stars choose to open up and share their transformation with an audience ready to celebrate it.
