Los Secretos debuted at the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium on August 1, 2024, with a run through their Spanish pop-rock classics and a surprise appearance by Sofía Ellar on stage.
The 80s pop icon debuts at the cantera
Los Secretos debuted at the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium with their characteristic pop-rock sound that has shaped generations, and a selection of greatest hits. Formed by the three Urquijo brothers —Javier, Enrique and Álvaro— the group started in the early 80s with emblematic albums like "Los Secretos" (1981), "Todo Sigue Igual" (1982) and "Algo más" (1983), leading the Movida madrileña. Since 2000, Álvaro has carried the legacy alongside Ramón Arroyo and Txetxu Altube (guitars), Juanjo Ramos (bass), Jesús Redondo (piano) and Santi Fernández (drums). "Thank you, Starlite Occident, for counting on us. It's an honour to be here, this festival is a magical space for music," they said.
Déjame, Ojos de gata and Sofía Ellar as a surprise
Impossible not to be moved by the songs of the iconic Madrid group. Compositions like "Sobre un Vidrio Mojado", "La Calle del Olvido", "Pero a tu Lado" or the well-known "Déjame" rang out, sung in unison by the entire Auditorium: "Déjame, no juegues más conmigo, esta vez en serio te lo digo". Surprisingly, singer Sofía Ellar joined the band on stage and they performed "Ojos de gata" together. Los Secretos also played pieces from their latest studio works such as "Mi Paraíso" (2019) and "En Este Mundo Raro" (2011), albums full of sensitivity and signature pop melodies.
Maribel Verdú, Carmen Lomana and Pedro Capó at Sessions
Familiar faces like Maribel Verdú, José María Cano, Carla Pereyra and Valeria Mazza enjoyed the concert and the Starlite Occident Marbella experience. Also Carmen Lomana, who once again chose the boutique festival to celebrate her birthday surrounded by friends. After the Auditorium concert, it was Pedro Capó's turn at the Sessions stage, delighting with hits like "La Fiesta", "Tutu", "Existo" or "Calma", the global hit he co-wrote with Farruko.
With Los Secretos, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms again that its Auditorium is the space where Spanish melodic pop finds the audience and the stage it deserves.
