Melendi celebrated 20 years on the road at Starlite Occident Marbella with two sold-out nights on August 26 and 27, 2024, with his '20 años sin noticias' tour, a tribute to his debut album 'Sin Noticias de Holanda'.
20 years since Sin Noticias de Holanda with two cantera nights
In September 2023, Melendi announced a 10-concert tour to celebrate 20 years of his debut album "Sin Noticias de Holanda". After selling out the dates with more than 185,000 tickets in record time, the tour expanded and arrived at Starlite Occident Marbella with a double bill. His first appearance was in 2015, and this double brings his count to nine concerts at the cantera. "Since 2015, Starlite Occident is a mandatory stop. Not only for the tour but also for holidays. We come with the whole family and playing here is always very special," the Asturian artist said.
El Parto, Caminando por la vida and duets with Bisbal, Carrasco and Taburete
The artist opened his commemorative show with "El Parto" (2010), a metaphor about the creative process. With the grit that turns his live shows into a mass phenomenon, he reinterpreted part of the repertoire of his first records and the hits of the tribute album "20 años sin noticias" where he revisits his classics with new artists: "Con la luna llena" with Manuel Carrasco, "Hablando en plata" with Hens, "Un recuerdo que Olvidar" with Taburete, "Sé lo que hicisteis" with Natos y Waor, "Mi rumbita pa' tus pies" with Pole and the eternal "Caminando por la vida" with David Bisbal.
Violinista en tu tejado, Lágrimas desordenadas and Julia Nakamatsu
With anthems like "Violinista en tu tejado" (2008), "Barbie de Extrarradio" (2010), "Tu Jardín con enanitos" (2012), "Cheque al portamor" (2013) or "Tocado y hundido" (2014), the idol confirmed his music's lasting power to connect generations. Also "Piratas del bar Caribe", "Loco" or "La Promesa" rang out. Beaming, he closed each night with "Lágrimas desordenadas" (2012). Julia Nakamatsu, the singer's wife, enjoyed the concert from the Presidential Box alongside Sandra García-Sanjuán, festival founder.
With Melendi, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms that its Auditorium is the stage where the great names of Spanish pop-rock celebrate their anniversaries with the audience that has turned their music into a collective soundtrack.
