Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin revolutionised the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium on July 25, 2024, celebrating 40 years of career with 'Ricky Martin Live 2024' and the surprise of La Mari de Chambao on stage.
40 years of career of the King of Latin pop
In 2023, his only two Spanish concerts were at Starlite Occident Marbella, where 10 years after his first visit he returned with resounding success. This summer, immersed in his "Ricky Martin Live 2024" tour, the Puerto Rican star could not miss his Marbella date. Recalling old times and celebrating life is what the "King of Latin pop" did. After sharing with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull "The Trilogy Tour" in 19 North American and Canadian cities, Ricky Martin wanted to travel through Spain to celebrate an important milestone: in July 1984 he first took the stage, 40 years ago.
Pégate, María, Adrenalina and La Mari de Chambao surprise
The show began after a video projection and his dancers' appearance. The singer burst on stage to the catchy "Pégate", a vibrant call to celebration. With the flamenco base and the "Un, dos, tres… Un pasito pa'lante…" chorus of "María" (1995), composed by Robi Draco —his "Menudo" friend—, he had the audience on its feet. With the beat of "Adrenalina" (2014) with Wisin and Jennifer López, he took everyone to the top. "La Bomba" (1998), "She Bangs" (2000), "Vuelve" (1998) and "Tu Recuerdo" (2006), a song recorded with La Mari de Chambao whom he invited by surprise to sing it together.
Livin' la Vida Loca and Marta Sánchez with DJ Nano
For the final stretch, unbreakable anthems like "Livin' la Vida Loca" (1999), a song from his first English album that established Latin music in the US and consecrated the Puerto Rican as an icon. Model Esther Cañadas, singer Marta Sánchez, Risto Mejide and Natalia Almarcha, Gunilla von Bismarck, presenter Antonio Hidalgo and model Lorena van Heerde enjoyed the concert. After the Latin sounds, DJ Nano took the Sessions stage. Marta Sánchez joined him in the booth to sing "The Rhythm of the Night", extending the high-energy until dawn.
With Ricky Martin, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms its Auditorium as the home of the King of Latin pop who celebrates his anniversaries with the most loyal Spanish Mediterranean audience.
