Alejandro Fernández

Date: 20 AugVenue: Marbella

Alejandro Fernández, 'El Potrillo', dazzled with a sold out at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 20, 2025, filling the Auditorium with mariachi and Mexican emotion after 30 years on stage.

El Potrillo, the only artist on all three Starlite auditoriums

The Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium hosted one of the greats of Mexican music: Alejandro Fernández, "El Potrillo", the only artist to have played all three festival auditoriums —Marbella (2014), Mexico (2016) and Madrid (2024)—. With more than 30 years on stage and a career that has cemented him as one of the most important voices in Latin America, Alejandro Fernández moves with equal strength between ranchera and pop ballad. His voice and presence have brought to life classics like "Me dediqué a perderte", "Hoy tengo ganas de ti" and "Se me va la voz", songs that are part of the soundtrack of several generations.

Charro tradition, mariachi and tribute to Vicente Fernández

The night opened with "Que seas muy feliz" and a clear promise: to celebrate "the world's best music, Mexican music". From there, the setlist travelled through anthems like "Estos celos", "Estuve" or "Te voy a perder", between images of open landscapes, galloping horses and charro tradition. One of the most emotional moments came with "Lástima que seas ajena", in tribute to his father, the great Vicente Fernández, followed by "Tantita pena" and "Abrázame". "Coming from a foreign country with different music and being received this warmly leaves me speechless. Here I feel at home," the singer said.

The audience, with Mexican flags and sombreros, responded singing every chorus and rising to dance with "Me dediqué a perderte", "Caballero" or "Como quien pierde una estrella". The date gathered many personalities: Victoria de Marichalar, Anne Igartiburu, Carmen Lomana, Manuel Díaz "El Cordobés" with Virginia Troconis, Luis de Medina Abascal with Clara Caruana, Bárbara Mirjan, Marta Martínez-Bordiú, Álvaro Fúster, Marisa Jara, Antonio José, Alma Bollo, María del Monte, Santiago Vancells (Hey Kid) and footballer Memo Ochoa. Sandra García-Sanjuán wore a traditional Mexican dress in honour of Alejandro, with whom she shares a great friendship. The night continued with PerreoLab and Henry Méndez as special guest.

With Alejandro Fernández, Starlite Occident Marbella reaffirms its Auditorium as a bridge between Mexico and Andalusia, where ranchera tradition always finds a devoted audience.
