Duran Duran chose Starlite Occident Marbella on July 9, 2025, for their only Spanish concert, debuting with an absolute sold out and also their first time in the province of Málaga.

Duran Duran played Starlite Occident Marbella for the first time, also making their absolute debut in the province of Málaga. Neither Marbella nor Málaga had ever hosted the band that marked a generation with anthems like "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Ordinary World" or "The Reflex". Until now, the legendary group had only played sporadic dates in Spain, with Barcelona being their last stop three years ago. Their arrival created huge anticipation among Andalusian fans, who responded with a sold out now etched into the boutique festival's history.
Danse Macabre: pop, new wave and an intact legacy
Since their formation in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran has been synonymous with innovation and style. With more than 100 million records sold, two Grammys, two Brits and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the classic lineup led by Simon Le Bon —with Nick Rhodes on keys, John Taylor on bass and Roger Taylor on drums— opened with a visual setup from the universe of "Danse Macabre", their latest record. They unfolded pop jewels like "The Wild Boys", "Notorious", "Planet Earth" and "Girls On Film", surprising too with covers of "Psycho Killer" by Talking Heads and "Evil Woman" by Electric Light Orchestra.
Save a Prayer, Rio and the encore the whole cantera sang
The audience sang along to the encore with "Save a Prayer" and "Rio", turning the closing of the show into a collective celebration. As a historical curiosity, Duran Duran was Princess Diana of Wales' favourite band. Their Starlite Occident Marbella concert was a careful run through a career that does not look back but keeps evolving without losing its essence, with thousands of fans travelling to the Costa del Sol to live a unique event.
