Fito Páez closed his summer Spanish tour at Starlite Occident Marbella on July 14, 2025, walking through more than four decades of career and the new songs from his album 'Novela'.
A legend of Argentine rock at the Marbella cantera
With more than 40 years on the road, Fito Páez is one of the great names of Spanish-language rock. Throughout his career he has released 28 studio albums, won a Grammy for "La conquista del espacio" and collected 11 Latin Grammys. He is part of the golden generation of Argentine rock, alongside Charly García, Andrés Calamaro, Gustavo Cerati and Luis Alberto Spinetta. Spanish singer-songwriter Marwán opened the night with his record "Canciones para una urgencia", the perfect prelude to Páez's universe of sound.
Novela and the great classics of the Rosario master
Backed by an eight-piece band and a horn section, the Rosario-born artist delivered a show that combined emotion, energy and a selection of songs spanning his whole career. There was no missing "11 y 6", "El amor después del amor", "Circo beat" or "Mariposa tecknicolor", but there was also room for pieces from "Novela", his new project: a double album he began writing in 1988 and finished in 2025, with 25 unreleased songs recorded between London and Madrid. The concert was visually restrained, in black and white, but with the stage power of someone who has commanded the stage for decades.
Tour finale with familiar faces in the crowd
Páez alternated intimate piano moments with rock outbursts, and the audience —Argentine, Latin American and Spanish— responded enthusiastically from the very first chord. "Music is the best energy we humans have created to connect with each other," he confessed at the end of the show. Among the crowd were Argentine supermodel Valeria Mazza and her husband Alejandro Gravier, alongside other familiar faces. The Marbella date closed a Spanish tour that also passed through Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.
With Fito Páez, Starlite Occident Marbella once again confirms its Auditorium as the natural closing point for the most important Spanish-language rock tours of the moment.
