Kool & The Gang turned the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium into a dance floor on June 27, 2025, walking through six decades of funk, soul and disco with an audience that danced from beginning to end.
A living funk legend on the cantera stage
Starlite Occident Marbella hosted one of the most special nights of its XIV edition with the concert of Kool & The Gang, a true living legend of funk and soul. The American band, known for timeless classics like "Celebration", "Get Down On It" and "Jungle Boogie", turned the Auditorium into a vibrant, nostalgic, feel-good dance floor. A night that reaffirmed the festival as a meeting point for established talent and a launchpad for artists with global reach.
Six decades of hits in a single night
Founded in 1964 in Jersey City by brothers Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell, the group evolved from instrumental jazz to become a funk and disco icon in the 70s and 80s. Their signature sound fuses danceable rhythms, unmistakable horn sections and lyrics full of optimism. With multiple awards and over 70 million records sold, Kool & The Gang continues to bring its energy to stages around the world, and the Marbella cantera became a mandatory stop on this tour.
Celebration, Ladies' Night and a famous actor in the front row
Powerful horns, energetic percussion and a flawless rhythm section drove the journey through their greatest hits. The connection with the audience was instant, and songs like "Cherish" or "Ladies' Night" became moments of pure communion, with the entire Auditorium singing along to every chorus. Familiar faces in the crowd included Spanish actor Adrián Lastra, who joined a night of music and fun under the stars of Starlite Occident Marbella.
