45 years of British reggae arrive at the cantera
Starlite Occident Marbella travelled to Birmingham without leaving the cantera. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, one of the most commercially successful British bands of all time thanks to a blend of reggae, pop and social commentary, delivered a solid run through more than four decades of music. Founded in Birmingham in 1979, the band became one of the genre's most influential names, popularising Jamaican reggae in Europe from the late 70s. They have sold more than 70 million records and tackled topics like poverty and unemployment in their lyrics.
Red Red Wine, Kingston Town and Ali Campbell's voice
After internal splits, Ali Campbell —the original voice— has kept the group's essence alive under the name "UB40 featuring Ali Campbell", touring with huge international success. The current tour celebrates 45 years of career. With his instantly recognisable voice, Campbell proved again why he is one of world reggae's emblems. Backed by an experienced band, he connected from the start with a devoted audience that responded with handclaps, dancing and ovations to every song that marked the group's history, like "Red Red Wine", "Kingston Town" and "Can't Help Falling in Love".
A reggae tribute with familiar faces
