Will Smith chose Starlite Occident Marbella on July 26, 2025, for the most special show of his 'An Evening with Will Smith' tour, two decades after his last live stage appearance.
The show born at the 2024 Starlite Gala
After more than two decades away from the stage, Will Smith stepped onto the Starlite Occident Marbella Auditorium to prove he has not lost his rhythm, charisma or hunger to leave a mark. The American actor, rapper and producer presented his new show "An Evening with Will Smith", turning it into a true intergenerational party. The tour's story began precisely one year earlier, during the 2024 Starlite Gala. "I was here last year, at the Starlite Gala, and I was so overwhelmed by how beautiful this place is, that I begged Sandra to let me come back to perform at the festival this year," he explained.
Rap, cinema and the mythic Carlton dance
He started as half of the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, with whom he won two Grammys. Then, solo, he released records like Big Willie Style and Willennium, before jumping to Hollywood with films such as Independence Day, Men in Black or The Pursuit of Happyness. He opened with a powerful rap while screens recapped the milestones of his career, and quickly won over the audience, switching between English and Spanish with humour. There was no missing the tribute to Uncle Phil, the iconic Carlton dance to Tom Jones, or cinematic nods to Bad Boys and Men in Black, with fans dressed as the legendary agents in black.
An Oscar shared with Marbella and familiar faces
One of the night's most emotional moments came when Smith pulled out the Oscar he won for King Richard and, raising it to the audience, confessed: "The last few years have been hard for me. I haven't had the chance to celebrate this Oscar, and I want to share it with you tonight." He also connected with younger fans through one of TikTok's trends with the song "Anxiety". Among the crowd, sisters Barbara and Nicole Kimpel, Valeria Mazza, actor Daniel Arias and influencer Rocío López enjoyed a magical night under the stars.
With Will Smith, Starlite Occident Marbella confirms that its Auditorium can be the origin of the most anticipated tours by the great international stars returning to the stage.
