Diana Krall
Diana Krall played Starlite Occident Marbella on July 21, 2026, her fourth visit, and turned the Cantera de Nagüeles into an open-air jazz club.
A jazz quartet at the Cantera de Nagüeles
The Canadian pianist and singer was joined by Marc Ribot on guitar, Dennis Crouch on double bass and Jay Bellerose on drums. From the stage she addressed the audience in few words: "It's a beautiful place with amazing musicians". Before saying goodbye she explained why: "I don't have a lot of words, but I can express them to you in this music".
Great American Songbook and a tribute to Annette Hanshaw
The set moved through the Great American Songbook, with stops at Joni Mitchell and the legacy of Nat King Cole, and included an explicit tribute to Annette Hanshaw, a jazz voice of the 1920s and 1930s. Valeria Mazza and her husband, Alejandro Gravier, were in the audience. With four visits, Diana Krall is now a regular in a programme that always keeps a place for jazz.
Without ever raising her voice, Diana Krall once again filled the space Starlite Occident Marbella sets aside for jazz every summer.
