Rosana
Rosana performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on July 31, 2026, in a concert defined by closeness: an improvised happy birthday, a song to her homeland on the timple and a stretch singing among the audience.
"A safe space full of music, people and magic"
At the end of the show, the Canarian artist addressed the festival's founder: "Thank you, Sandra, for giving the world this safe space full of music, people and magic". For Rosana, Starlite Occident is "a great meeting point where you can share magical nights of learning with people, and proof that the places where music is shared with other human beings are safe spaces". In the middle of the concert, without warning, she stopped to sing happy birthday to the festival, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The timple and a song for the Canary Islands
One of the most moving moments came when someone handed her a timple, the small string instrument typical of the Canary Islands. Rosana then sang a fragment of one of her own songs dedicated to her homeland, and in the presidential box Sandra García-Sanjuán and her family rose to their feet, visibly moved. Later she stepped down from the stage and walked into the audience to sing very close, almost in the ear, to people who have followed her for years.
A 21-year story at the meet & greet
The anecdote of the night happened offstage. At the meet & greet, two fans who have been together as a couple for 21 years finally met Rosana: it was the artist's own fan club that brought them together two decades ago. Nobody had planned it; the meeting took place at the Nagüeles quarry, face to face with the singer whose music introduced them.
Rosana turned her night at Starlite Occident Marbella into a conversation among friends, timple in hand and the audience one step away.
