Vanesa Martín
Vanesa Martín performed at Starlite Occident Marbella on August 14, 2026, her eighth time on this stage, presenting "Casa Mía Plus", the extended version of the tour that celebrates two decades of her career.
"Casa Mía Plus": twenty years in one concert
"This year I've done a Casa Mía Plus, as a nod to my twenty years in music," the singer from Málaga explained. "I've included very old songs I hadn't sung for a long time, and we've freshened up songs that have been around for years." The tour had to stop at Starlite Occident, "one of my great homes", where she says she feels "very much among family". Her history with the festival also includes its Madrid edition. Some songs can never leave the set, among them "Polvo de Mariposas", "Arráncame", "No Te Pude Retener", "Complicidad" and "Hábito de Ti": "I'd be left with no audience. They wouldn't come to the concerts."
A winter residency: her proposal to Sandra García-Sanjuán
Laughing, the artist pitched an idea to the organisers: "I leave home and I'm here in half an hour. I could do a month-long residency. I don't know why Sandra doesn't come up with it. I wish it were open in winter too." She added that the new album she is preparing would suit that format well. Vanesa Martín also pointed out that she knows the venue from the other side: "I came to see Luis Miguel, Miguel Bosé, Raphael... I'm one of those who come." As a spectator she values "the distance, the sound" and the setting.
Andalusian roots and a three-generation audience
"I'm very proud of my roots, of being from Málaga, of being Andalusian," she said. That is where "Casa Mía" comes from, an album on which she wanted to blend her roots with those of the places she visits on her Latin American tours, and for which Colombian producer Cast gave her confidence. She defines it as "an emotional place where I want no prejudice". About her audience, she said she sees "the grandmother, the mother and the granddaughter" at her concerts and hopes "to reach the great-granddaughter". Her long-time fans are demanding: "Change a comma in Arráncame or Polvo de Mariposas and they notice."
Eight concerts on, Vanesa Martín still talks about Starlite Occident Marbella as a home half an hour from her own.
