Duran Duran will be performing for the first time at Starlite Occident on Wednesday, July 9th.

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Duran Duran has sold more than 100 million records worldwide during their illustrious four-decade career. With 18 U.S. charting singles, and 21 Top 20 hits in the UK, the band has cemented their place as one of music history’s most influential and enduring groups. They also penned the only James Bond theme to reach #1 around the world, and have worked with some of the most revered creatives in music, film and television including, David Lynch, who directed one of their most successful concert films. Among their many accolades are eight Lifetime Achievement Awards and a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  You can hear them sampled in songs by everyone from Notorious B.I.G. to 5 Seconds of Summer and in reverent covers by Muse, Deftones, and more. Rio has claimed spots on Q’s “100 Greatest British Albums,” NME’s “100 Greatest Albums of All Time, and Pitchfork’s “Top 100 Albums of the 1980s.Summing up their enduring impact, Vanity Fair proclaimed, “Duran Duran’s always been about constant innovation and the ‘new’.

Formed in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran has always thrived in the shadows, embracing artistic, emotional, and aesthetic extremes. Their infectious and timeless hits, such as Hungry Like the Wolf, Ordinary World, and Rio, invite fans to dance and sing along, yet there’s a unique magic in experiencing their music under the veil of night. Renowned for the seamless fusion of the presentation of their songs with fashion, design, and technology, the band has continuously pushed the boundaries of pop culture, redefining the intersection of art and innovation.

Fronted by the charismatic singer Simon Le Bon, alongside keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor, and drummer Roger Taylor, decades into their career, Duran Duran remain ahead of the curve, captivating massive audiences around the world with their unparalleled creativity and energy.

Their 2021 album, Future Past, received widespread critical acclaim, including praise from Rolling Stone. In 2023, the band followed up with their 16th studio album, Danse Macabre—a dynamic collection of new songs, reimagined versions of their iconic hits, and bold covers.
