On Friday, July 12th, Starlite Occident will welcome Lila Downs, one of Latin America’s most influential artists and violin master Ara Malikian.

For the first time, Lila Downs, one of the most influential and representative artists of Mexican music, will perform at Starlite Occident. Known for the importance she gives to social justice issues in her music, Downs has lent her voice to various social activism issues such as justice and civil rights. Winner of 4 Latin Grammy Awards and 1 Amarican Grammy, the Mexican artist will perform live hits such as “Cariñito”, “Zapata se queda” and “Que nadie sepa mi sufrir”.

Ara Malikian, the violin prodigy will present “Ara” at the boutique festival, a project born as a result of watching his son grow up, and which translates into a compendium of sounds and melodies that try to give shape to everything he has felt and has inspired him in this adventure. A whole experience through which he makes contact with the child he could not be and would have sounded like being, also paying homage to those beings as free as birds. The talented, brilliant and expressive violinist will return to delight the audience under the stars of the Auditorium.
