A night of nostalgic pop and Latin rhythms under the stars
Starlite Occident 2024 hosted a magical double bill with the debut of Los Secretos at the Auditorium and a vibrant performance by Pedro Capó at Sessions, blending generations, genres and emotions at the world’s leading boutique festival.
The legendary Madrid-based band, led by Álvaro Urquijo, filled the night with nostalgia through a setlist of iconic anthems that defined decades of Spanish pop. “La calle del olvido”, “Ojos de gata”, “Pero a tu lado”, “Sobre un vidrio mojado” and the timeless “Déjame” were sung in unison by a devoted audience, transported back in time by one of the cornerstones of the Movida Madrileña.

“Thank you, Starlite Occident, for having us. It’s an honor to be here. This festival is a magical space for music and has a wonderful audience,” said Urquijo. A special surprise came when Sofía Ellar joined the band on stage to perform “Ojos de gata”, creating a tender and unforgettable moment.
The legacy of Los Secretos lived on not only through their classics but also in newer songs from albums like “Mi Paraíso” and “En Este Mundo Raro”, proving their enduring relevance with their signature melodic and heartfelt style.
Among the guests were familiar faces such as Maribel Verdú, José María Cano, Carla Pereyra, Valeria Mazza and Carmen Lomana, who once again chose Starlite Occident to celebrate her birthday among friends, laughter and great music.
After the concert, the celebration moved to the Sessions stage with Puerto Rican artist Pedro Capó, who charmed the crowd with his vibrant, heartfelt Latin pop. Hits like “La fiesta”, “Tutu”, “Existo” and the global smash “Calma” (co-written with Farruko) had everyone dancing beneath the stars.
Capó, grandson of iconic Bobby Capó, also showcased his songwriting talent, having penned Ricky Martin hits like “La Mordidita” and “Disparo al Corazón”. His performance reinforced Starlite Occident’s commitment to hosting world-class international talent.
Nature, technology and music once again came together at Starlite Occident to deliver a sensory, elegant and festive experience, where timeless Spanish pop and Latin rhythms coexisted in perfect harmony.
