Carlos Vives turns Starlite Occident into a legendary party

A night of vallenato, flavor and Colombian rhythms under the stars

Carlos Vives returned to Starlite Occident 2024 with his tour “El Rock de Mi Pueblo Vive”, playing to a sold-out crowd and celebrating three decades of hits, reaffirming his status as the ultimate ambassador of Colombian sound. Backed by his longtime band La Provincia, the Colombian icon delivered a vibrant night full of color, dancing and emotion.

The audience at Starlite Occident is cosmopolitan and international. This festival is crazy, a magical space where incredible parties happen,” said Vives before taking the stage. And he lived up to the hype: his infectious energy and charisma transformed the Auditorium into a borderless celebration.

Timeless classics like “La Cañaguatera”, “La Gota Fría”, “Fruta fresca” and “El Cantor de Fonseca” had the crowd on its feet, while global hits like “La bicicleta” (with Shakira), “Robarte un beso” (with Sebastián Yatra) and “Cancion Bonita” (with Ricky Martin) made the night soar.

The show was a masterclass in blending traditional Caribbean sounds with contemporary pop, a genre Vives himself dubbed “Colombian Pop”. At 62, the Santa Marta-born artist continues to inspire generations with a message of joy, identity and celebration.

Familiar faces like Claudia Elena Vásquez, Lili Estefan, Nicole and Barbara Kimpel, Frédéric Lerner, Hubertus Hohenlohe, Simona Gandolfi and Marta Martínez-Bordiú were part of the season’s most festive night.

After the concert, the celebration continued at Sessions, where music and technology created a one-of-a-kind sensory experience, under the starry sky and surrounded by nature.

Starlite Occident 2024 once again proved why it’s the world’s leading boutique festival, blending musical excellence, innovation, gastronomy and a one-of-a-kind setting for unforgettable nights.
