A night of flamenco, tribute and celebration under the Marbella stars
Sara Baras returned to Starlite Occident to mark the 25th anniversary of her company with “Vuela”, an emotional performance paying tribute to Paco de Lucía that moved the Auditorium audience. It was the seventh time the acclaimed dancer graced the festival stage, reaffirming her special bond with this venue she calls home.
“It is an honor to leave our soul here. We travel the world and always come back. For me, it’s very important to see how we’ve grown year after year in this space,” Baras shared emotionally.

The show unfolded in four acts, each centered around a word transformed into movement: “Madera”, “Mar”, “Muerte” and “Volar”, with 15 choreographies exploring different flamenco styles through powerful and evocative expression.
With symbolic staging —six beams of light as guitar strings and an empty chair in tribute—, hypnotic costumes and a musical proposal led by Keko Baldomero on guitar, Sara Baras delivered a stunning performance with an outstanding dance troupe, moving vocal duets and a narrative that stirred the soul.
Pieces like “La Barrosa” and “Cancion de Amor” by Paco de Lucía rang out, along with tientos, seguiriyas, rondeñas, alegrías and saetas, culminating in celebratory bulerías that brought the audience to its feet in admiration.
After the flamenco journey, the party continued at Sessions with Picoco’s Band, making their Starlite Occident debut with a vibrant show of Spanish pop-rock covers, led by David Ascanio. With a setlist full of hits from the past 30 years, the band got the crowd dancing with charisma, polished sound and contagious energy.
Cristina Iglesias, Ana Brito, Juanlu González, Valeria Mazza and Vicente Boluda were among the familiar faces enjoying this unforgettable night at the world’s leading boutique festival.
