A legendary night of funk, soul and celebration
Kool & The Gang delivered a performance at Starlite Occident 2025 that will be remembered as one of the most iconic nights of the festival’s 14th edition, bringing over five decades of music to life in a show brimming with groove, virtuosity and irresistible charisma.
From the very first notes, the Auditorium turned into a dance floor with timeless hits like “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Jungle Boogie”, “Cherish” and “Ladies’ Night”. The audience, fully engaged from start to finish, experienced a true connection with the band, whose powerful brass, energetic percussion and flawless rhythm section lit up the stage.
Founded in 1964 in Jersey City by brothers Robert “Kool” Bell and Ronald Bell, Kool & The Gang is one of the most influential bands in funk, soul and R&B history, with over 70 million albums sold and an impressive collection of awards. Their unmistakable sound, blending danceable rhythms and uplifting lyrics, shone brightly under Marbella’s starry sky.
The Starlite Occident Auditorium, with its natural acoustics and unique setting, amplified every note of a show that blended nostalgia, energy and pure joy. Among the attendees were familiar faces like Adrián Lastra, enjoying an unrepeatable summer night.
Beyond the music, guests enjoyed the festival’s gastronomic delights at its five restaurants —Tanabata, Temazo, Raffaella, Ánima and Sandra’s Caviar Bar— or opted for the more casual yet stylish Food Hall.
The night continued at Sessions, Starlite Occident’s open-air club, with DJ sets and a vibrant vibe that kept the celebration going until dawn.
