Diana Krall mesmerizes Starlite Occident 2024 with immersive jazz

An evening of elegance, timeless classics and emotional connection

Diana Krall returned for the third consecutive year to the Starlite Occident 2024 Auditorium, reaffirming her status as one of the leading ladies of contemporary jazz. With her unique voice, flawless piano skills and a band of jazz virtuosos, the Canadian artist delivered a concert that enveloped the audience in sophistication, nostalgia and sonic beauty.

She performed songs from her album “This Dream of You”, a tribute to her late producer and close friend Tommy LiPuma. Released in 2020, the record features Krall’s signature interpretations of classics like “Singing in the Rain”, “How Deep Is the Ocean” and Bob Dylan’s “This Dream of You”, all performed with exquisite sensitivity under the Marbella stars.

Krall also revisited highlights from her iconic albums, including “All for You” (1996), “Love Scenes” (1997) and “When I Look in Your Eyes” (1999). The latter earned her international acclaim and broke new ground for female jazz artists, cementing her legacy in the genre.

Elegant, warm and profoundly emotive, Diana Krall enchanted a devoted audience, which included celebrities such as Antonio Banderas, Vicente Amigo and Marta Martínez-Bordiú, all enjoying the performance from the Presidential Box alongside the festival’s founders.

The evening continued at the Sessions stage, where Juan Magán turned the quarry into an open-air electronic party. With hits like “Bailando por ahí”, “Por fin te encontré” and “Verano Azul”, the after party wrapped the night in a unique mix of nature, innovation and freedom.

Diana Krall left an indelible mark on Starlite Occident 2024, proving once again that music with soul and style will always have a special place in Marbella’s heart.
