A vibrant night with the spirit of Jamaica and the legacy of Bob Marley
Julian Marley & The Uprising delivered an unforgettable night at Starlite Occident 2024, filling the Auditorium with reggae, spirituality and positive vibes. The son of the legendary Bob Marley brought a career-spanning setlist that reaffirmed his place as one of today’s foremost ambassadors of the genre.
From the very first notes, the crowd was transported to Jamaica by the seamless fusion of ska, rocksteady, jazz, calypso, rhythm & blues and hip hop that Julian Marley expertly weaved together. Backed by his powerful band The Uprising, he performed songs from albums like “Lion In The Morning”, “Awake”, “As I Am” and his Grammy-winning latest release “Colors of Royal” (Best Reggae Album, 2024).

The most electrifying moments came with tributes to Bob Marley, as timeless anthems like “Jamming”, “Exodus”, “Is This Love” and “One Love” lit up the Auditorium and forged an emotional connection across generations.
Opening the evening was Awake, a reggae band led by Ras Kuko (from Cñaman) and members of Malaka Youth, who brought a fresh, soulful energy to the stage. Their performance set the tone for a truly legendary night.
Julian Marley shone as a musician, singer and multi-instrumentalist, radiating charisma and authenticity. He connected with the audience not just through music, but through the values of peace, social justice and spirituality that have long defined his family legacy.
After the concert, Sessions turned into an open-air nightclub, with a lively after party led by resident DJs. Nature, music and a magical atmosphere kept the Starlite Occident spirit alive into the early hours.
