A night full of memories, generational anthems and musical passion
Starlite Occident hosted one of its most anticipated evenings with Melendi’s second consecutive concert at the Auditorium, where the charismatic Asturian singer-songwriter celebrated two decades of music. With his tour “20 años sin noticias”, he returned to La Cantera to reconnect with fans in an evening brimming with emotion and camaraderie.
“Since 2015, Starlite Occident has been a must-stop. Not just for the tour, but also for our holidays. We bring the whole family,” the artist shared from the stage, underscoring his special bond with the boutique festival.

The concert was a musical journey through his greatest moments, from his debut album “Sin noticias de Holanda” (2003) to the gems of his tribute record “20 años sin noticias”. Songs like “Violinista en tu tejado”, “Cheque al portamor”, “Tocado y hundido”, “La promesa”, “Loco” and “Barbie de Extrarradio” had the crowd singing in unison in a heartfelt celebration of nostalgia and passion.
Melendi radiated charisma, humor and closeness, instantly connecting with his loyal fanbase. At 45, he proved his musical versatility with a mix of rumba, pop-rock and ballads that touched both the hearts of the in-love and the heartbroken.
A highlight of the evening was his updated versions of beloved classics with artists like David Bisbal (“Caminando por la vida”), Manuel Carrasco (“Con la luna llena”), Hens, Taburete and Natos y Waor. A modern tribute that stays true to the soul of his most iconic lyrics.
His wife, Julia Nakamatsu, enjoyed the show from the Presidential Box alongside festival founder Sandra García-Sanjuán, in a night that reaffirmed Melendi’s enduring relationship with Starlite Occident.
The evening closed with “Lágrimas desordenadas”, passionately sung by the crowd, and the implicit promise of a return. Because Melendi’s story in Marbella is not a goodbye, but a heartfelt “see you soon” full of music and shared memories.
