Natalia Lafourcade and Valeria Castro move audiences at Starlite Occident 2025

Two generations, one shared truth: music as refuge and collective memory

Starlite Occident 2025 experienced one of its most intimate and moving evenings with the performances of Natalia Lafourcade and Valeria Castro, two artists from opposite sides of the Atlantic who came together in Marbella to prove that music can heal, move and stay within.

Opening the night was Natalia Lafourcade, the most awarded woman in Latin Grammy history. Dressed in an elegant black gown and accompanied only by her guitar, the Mexican singer-songwriter revisited her timeless repertoire: “Hasta la raíz”, “Tú sí sabes quererme” and “Nunca es suficiente” were met with ovations. Between songs, she shared reflections and confidences, including her pregnancy, warmly celebrated by the audience. A highlight came when she performed “Cómo quisiera quererte” alongside Valeria Castro, sparking collective emotion and applause.

Then came the turn of Valeria Castro, who at just 25 has established herself as one of Spain’s most genuine voices. She presented her acclaimed album “El cuerpo después de todo”, with pieces steeped in vulnerability and strength such as “La soledad”, “Tiene que ser más fácil”, “Devota” and “Guerrera”. Her duet of “Debe ser” with Lafourcade bridged generations and sensibilities, showing that both artists share the same emotional truth. Valeria closed with “La raíz” and “Sobra decirte”, securing her place in the audience’s hearts.

Among the attendees were Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, Teresa Riott and Valeria Mazza, who did not want to miss this night of art and authenticity.

Starlite Occident 2025 reaffirms its status as the world’s leading boutique festival, uniting established legends and emerging voices on the same stage in unique experiences that transcend music.
