A sonic journey through six decades of classics under Marbella’s stars
The Beach Boys returned to Starlite Occident 2025 with their The Sounds of Summer show, a concert that spanned over six decades of history and brought back to Marbella the essence of Californian surf rock. Mike Love and Bruce Johnston led a vibrant evening filled with nostalgia, energy and immortal harmonies.

From the opening chords of “Do It Again”, the audience was transported to California beaches. Classics like “Surfin’ U.S.A.”, “Surfer Girl” and “Catch a Wave” ignited smiles and memories, while intimate moments such as “Forever” and “God Only Knows” filled the auditorium with emotion. The night grew even more special with actor John Stamos, who joined the band on iconic tracks like “Kokomo”.
The finale was pure celebration with “California Girls”, “I Get Around”, “Barbara Ann” and “Fun, Fun, Fun”, closing with the euphoric “Good Vibrations”, an eternal anthem that had the entire audience singing in unison. Among the attendees was actress Andrea Guasch, who did not want to miss the chance to witness this legendary performance.
Formed in the 1960s, The Beach Boys remain one of the most influential bands in music history, with over 100 million records sold, 33 gold and platinum albums, and an honorary Grammy for their lifetime achievement. In 2025, Mike Love will also be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in recognition of his legacy.
After the concert, the Sessions stage welcomed Q2, one of Spain’s most promising urban pop artists, who won over the younger audience with hits like “Fighter”, “Soltera” and “La Temperatura”.
